New Zealand has a rich engineering and industrial heritage worth appreciating and celebrating. We created the Engineering Heritage Register to make sure everyone knows about and understands our major engineering achievements and the contribution engineers make to society.
Eligibility
Items eligible for heritage registration include:
- engineering works or sites
- engineering objects
- engineering systems or concepts
As part of our heritage programme, we’re always looking for new Register entries. Items go through a robust registration process to ensure that we're profiling the very best of New Zealand's engineering heritage.
