The High Court has been hearing a judicial review of our decision to discontinue an investigation into Dr Reay’s involvement in the design of the CTV Building when he resigned his membership in 2014.

The hearing focused on the interpretation of our Rules. It concluded on Tuesday, with the judge’s decision reserved.

We’ve changed our Rules since then so that members can no longer resign to avoid a complaint. We’ve also overhauled our complaints processes to make them more robust, transparent and fair. All of this work has been in the shadow of the CTV Building tragedy, and we acknowledge the ongoing grief of those who lost loved ones.

We will abide by the court’s decision and follow its directions.
