Now that you’ve retired, you can apply for a retired discount on your membership fee.
You’ll continue to receive our membership magazine, email newsletters and remain in contact with your branch.
If you choose not to complete any Continuing Professional Development (CPD) then your postnominal should reflect that by adding (Ret.). However, if you continue to accumulate at least 20 CPD hours per year, you're welcome to use your postnominal as it is.
Your CPEng registration
As long as it isn't the year your Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration expires, you can schedule your CPEng registration to be placed on hold for an annual fee.
If you no longer need CPEng status to sign off documents, you can schedule your CPEng registration to be cancelled by the end of the year so you don't receive a new invoice.
Your IntPE registration
There's no retired option for IntPE registration. If you no longer need this, you can cancel it using the same form. You can reinstate your IntPE registration any time, provided your Chartered Membership is also active.
Groups
Some Technical and Special Interest Groups have options for retired members. Get in touch with us to find out about your Group memberships and to discuss your options or request a change.
Whether you're remaining a member of Engineering New Zealand or not, you may like to consider joining your local Heritage Chapter – open to anyone with an interest in engineering heritage.
