Applications for the 2026 intake are open now, and close on Sunday 26 October. If you think you're ready to start your leadership journey and take your skills to the next level, apply now.

If you’re passionate about engineering and want to make your mark to launch your career the best way, consider joining the Student Ambassador Committee. Being on the committee means supporting the students of today to become the engineers of tomorrow.

Committee members represent students' voices. The committee advocates on issues that you believe engineers should be addressing, promotes Engineering New Zealand, and organises fun and engaging events exclusively for students.

Working closely with Engineering New Zealand and other committee members, you’ll have the chance to gain invaluable leadership experience and develop strong networks in the engineering community.

To apply to join the committee, you’ll need:

  • to be an Engineering New Zealand Student Member
  • your Student Membership number
  • an up-to-date CV
  • a lecturer, tutor or academic willing to vouch for you
  • a short paragraph detailing why you want to join the committee, and what you can bring to the role.

If you’ll be studying in 2026 and you’d like to apply to make a difference, view the full job description, along with the top reasons to get involved as told by previous ambassadors.
