Monthly policy update
It’s been a busy period for the policy team. In February we completed four submissions centred on the Water Services Legislation Bill, Natural and Built Environment Bill, Spatial Planning Bill, and the Review into the Future for Local Government. In addition, we also wrote a letter to Minister Woods advocating for progress of the Engineers Registration Bill.
This month, we’re preparing to respond to MBIE’s consultation on the wider occupational regulation reforms in the building and construction sector. Submissions are due Thursday 6 April. This consultation seeks feedback on the following occupational regulation regimes:
- Licensed building practitioners
- Plumbers, gas fitters and drainlayers
- Electrical workers
- Registered architects
