Local government will play a key role in the economic recovery. Engineers are concerned about the ability of local government to fund infrastructure work, including projects already agreed but now up in the air.
This especially applies to authorities close to their debt ceilings.
It’s become obvious that without central government intervention in this space, there will be significant negative flow-on effects.
