There are several waste minimisation initiatives have taken place in the Manawatū region and are currently taking place. Among them are the landfill gas-to-energy scheme at Awapuni, and the rollout of wheelie-bin recycling to 29,000 households and a $26 million Provincial Growth Fund business case for regional plastics reprocessing.

Chris will present how councils and communities can deliver technically robust, financially sound, and sustainable infrastructure in an era of rising costs, regulatory change, and climate risk by bringing a practitioner’s perspective.
