Engineering New Zealand's Young Engineers Bay of Plenty Committee is taking the networking outdoors with a casual learn-to-surf evening at Mount Maunganui. Whether you've never stood on a board or you're keen to brush up, this is a relaxed way to get outside after work, catch a few waves and meet other engineers from across the region.
The session is a private 1.5-hour group lesson run by South Pacific Surf Co.'s qualified instructors. They'll cover the basics, including ocean safety, paddling, taking off and riding your first waves, before getting everyone into the water. The lesson is beginner-friendly and the group will be supported by instructors the whole time.
Your ticket includes: professional surf instruction, plus a surfboard and wetsuit to use for the session.
What to bring: togs, a towel, sunscreen, a water bottle and a change of clothes.
Spaces are limited to 15, so grab your ticket early. Come for the waves and stay for the chat. It's a great chance to build connections across the Bay of Plenty engineering community, and get stoked!!!
Swap the desk for a surfboard, and the softshell for a wetsuit and join the Bay of Plenty Young Engineers for an evening of waves, laughs and good company at the Mount! South Pacific Surf Co. will run a beginner-friendly group surf lesson, then we'll all compare wipe-outs on the beach. No experience needed, just bring your stoke (and maybe a towel).
