Conference Theme: Building coastal resilience through collaboration
This year’s conference is built around the whakataukī He moana pukepuke e ekengia e te waka — a choppy sea can be navigated by the canoe. It speaks to navigating uncertainty and change through collective effort, supporting one another and working towards a common purpose.
Connect, catch up and celebrate in Ōtepoti Dunedin
There will be plenty of opportunities to connect beyond the conference programme from an icebreaker in the science centre to breakfast with coastal mentors, relaxed drinks and a memorable gala evening.
- Conference Icebreaker
- Monday 9 November, from 6.00pm: Start the week with a welcome drink, tasty nibbles and great conversation in the lush surrounds of Tūhura Science Centre.
- Eric Verstappen Emerging Professionals Breakfast
- Tuesday 10 November, 7.00–8.30am: Students and emerging professionals with fewer than five years’ experience can meet experienced coastal mentors and pick their brains over breakfast.
- PIANC Networking Function
- Tuesday 10 November, from 5.00pm: Join PIANC New Zealand for relaxed networking, drinks and nibbles at Emerson’s Brewery. Venue confirmation is pending.
- Conference Gala Dinner
- Wednesday 11 November, 6.00pm until late: Enjoy ocean views, good company and a special evening at the character-filled Tautuku Fishing Club.
