Welcoming and networking function – Wednesday 3 September

If you're arriving in Tāmaki Makaurau on Wednesday, we warmly invite you to join us for the Welcoming and networking function, generously hosted by Beca at Te Paeroa o te Kawau – their newly opened global headquarters.

You'll have the opportunity to connect over refreshments and engage in a panel kōrero on the co-design and development of Te Paeroa o te Kawau. The discussion will spotlight the collaboration between engineers, designers and tāngata whenua in shaping this significant space.

Dinner and SPPEEx Awards – Thursday 4 September

Join us for an unforgettable evening at Waipapa Marae as we celebrate Māori excellence in engineering at the He kura nā Rātā, He kura pūkaha Dinner and inaugural SPPEEx Awards. This special event honours leaders who uplift kaupapa Māori through their mahi and contributions to the engineering profession.

Expect great food, great laughs and great company as we come together to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our community.

The evening will be MC’d by Luke Bird (Ngāpuhi, Ngati Whatua, Te Uriroroi, Ngāti Ueoneone, Te Whānau a Apanui). Born and raised in Whangārei, Luke is a trained comedic actor and opera singer. Highly sought after, Luke will bring his infectious energy, wit and flair for storytelling to entertain you.

Enjoy delicious kai and refreshments while connecting with fellow wānanga attendees and guests. Dress to impress – indigenous kākahu is encouraged and warmly welcomed.
