The New Zealand Geotechnical Society (NZGS) is the affiliated organisation in New Zealand of the International Societies representing practitioners in soil mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering geology.
What they do
NZGS aim to advance the education and application of soil mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering geology among engineers and scientists. Their vision is to implement the statutes of the respective international societies where applicable in New Zealand, and ensure that learnings are passed on to the public.
Membership
Membership is open to engineers, scientists, technicians, contractors, students and others who are interested in the practice and application of soil mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering geology.
Membership types include:
- Full membership – $120 per year
- Student – Free
- Life Members – Free
- Long Service Members – Free
