Come along on the 24th of September to hear Rob Crosbie present on one of the first hydro schemes in New Zealand.
The presentation will provide a brief tour through the history of the Waipori Hydro scheme starting with how it was first conceived then through its development stages over a period of 80 years. The talk will also cover some of the interesting events through that time as well as a brief look at some of the engineering challenges encountered along the way.
Event Schedule
5.15 – 5.45: arrive and network over drinks and pizza.
5.45 – 6.15: presentation, followed by questions.
We are also considering a tour around the site later in the year, if there is enough interest.

Dunedin branch, in association with the Dunedin Heritage Chapter, invite you to learn about the Waipori Hydro scheme, which has been providing electricity to Dunedin since 1907 – one of the first hydro schemes in New Zealand to provide electricity to a major urban centre.
