Engineering New Zealand invites WITT mechanical engineering students to an exciting double industry site visit in Bell Block, New Plymouth on Thursday 30 July.
The visit will include two local engineering companies:
- Energyworks - Students will tour the welding and fabrication areas, seeing first hand how metal fabrication and engineering manufacturing works in a real production environment. Glenn Ryan from Energyworks will be hosting the group.
- Howard Wright - Students will explore the machining side of operations as well as gain insights into R&D engineering from Greg Stearn and the Howard Wright team. Howard Wright is a world-leading manufacturer of medical and aged care beds, giving students a unique perspective on engineering in a specialized manufacturing environment.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real industry practice and to meet experienced engineers working across different sectors of the industry.
Transport will be arranged by WITT — students and tutors will be picked up from WITT New Plymouth and transported to both sites by van. Limited spots, register now!
PPE required: closed toe footwear.
