Join the Waikato Young Engineers for a behind-the-scenes look at four live construction projects across Hamilton, showcasing different stages from demolition through to completion. Starting with a presentation at BCD, attendees will gain insight into engineering design, project challenges, and real-world construction delivery before visiting each site.
The event will begin at BCD Group Hamilton (220 Tristram Street, Hamilton Central), where the project engineers will present on each development, project background, engineering design considerations and the challenges faced throughout delivery.
Following the presentation, participants will visit four active development sites currently at different stages of construction:
- 68 Storey Avenue – mid-demolition phase
- 30 De Vere Crescent – ground floor and first floor framing nearing completion
- 208 Bankwood Road – internal linings underway
- 6 Vardon Road – complete and just two days from handover
This is a valuable opportunity to see projects progress through the full development lifecycle while connecting with peers and industry professionals.
Transport between sites will be facilitated by two vans with limited capacity. Please ensure you select either a ‘van ticket’ or an ‘own transport ticket’ when registering. If choosing your own transport, carpooling between sites is encouraged.
Free for members and $5 for non-members.
PPE Required: Steel capped boots, hard hat and high-vis jacket.
