Join the Northland branch for an insightful presentation on Meridian's groundbreaking Ruakākā Energy Park, a significant local project shaping our energy future!

Meridian is developing a cutting-edge energy park in Ruakākā. This includes a powerful Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), completed this year, capable of delivering 100MW of electricity with a storage capacity of 200MWh – enough to power approximately 60,000 average homes for two hours during winter!

The next phase of the Ruakākā Energy Park is an impressive 130MW solar farm, with construction beginning soon. Spanning about 163 hectares, this farm will feature around 250,000 solar panels and is projected to generate up to 230GWh of energy annually, enough to power over half of Northland's homes in an average year.

We're thrilled to host representatives from Meridian's team, including Robert Batters (Project Manager - Ruakākā Solar Project) and Bradley Stuart (BESS site owner), who will provide a detailed presentation on this exciting local initiative.

When: Thursday 14th August 2025

Where: Upstairs at Dickens Inn, 71 Cameron Street, Whangārei

  • 5:00 PM: Refreshments and Networking
