Led by local guides, this walk offers the chance to soak in sweeping views over the harbour and plains, explore distinct and varying habitats and learn about the unique flora that flourishes on the Port Hills. With a bit of luck, we may even spot a friendly Pīwakawaka (fantail) or graceful Kererū (wood pigeon) along the way.
Please note that parking is limited at the Sign of the Bellbird car park. If it’s full, there are a few alternative spots nearby – a couple about 100m south along Summit Road, a few more around 200m north, and space for 10+ vehicles approximately 700m north along the roadside.
Free for all attendees!
Join us for a guided evening hīkoi along the stunning Crater Rim. Bring sturdy footwear, a warm layer and your curiosity for nature and local ecology!
