The tour comprises the following with commentary along the way from our London Walks guide:
- Riverboat cruise from Embankment Pier to Masthouse Terrace Pier.
- Walk to Island Gardens, passing the site where Brunel built his last ship, SS Great Eastern.
- DLR and Windrush lines from Island Gardens to Rotherhithe, passing through Brunel's Thames Tunnel on the way.
The guided tour ends at the Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe (entry included).
After spending some time looking around the museum, there is the option of retiring to the Mayflower pub just around the corner from the museum, and literally on the banks of the River Thames, for lunch and refreshments.
The visit programme is as follows:
- 09:45 Gather outside the River Exit from Embankment Underground Station.
- 10:00 Tour starts with our London Walks guide.
- 13:00** Arrive at Brunel Museum - visit to the museum is included in ticket cost.

There are also additional separate costs for the riverboat ride and train rides. The simplest option for the riverboat is to use a contactless credit/debit card or Oyster card. You will need a ticket for the train ride (a travel card, Oyster or contactless credit/debit card is suggested).
The lunch following the museum visit is self funded.
