NZTA Waka Kotahi will provide an update on the SH76 Brougham Street Upgrade, outlining progress to date and the key features of this major transport improvement project. The presentation will cover the recently installed pedestrian and cycle bridge, upcoming corridor improvements, and how the project is enhancing safety, connectivity, and travel efficiency for all road users.
Also, Eddie Cook will present the new Level Crossing Risk Management Guide. He will cover the significant updates to the guide including; a consistent, industry-wide framework for assessing and managing level crossing risk; the application of the So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP) framework and best practice approaches for improving safety through collaboration between road and rail stakeholders.

Presenter Bio:
Eddie Cook has been involved in the Road/ Rail safety engineering field for over 30 years. Eddie has extensive technical and practical knowledge of Level Crossing Risk Assessment processes. Eddie is Kiwirail’s recognised Subject Matter Expert for Level crossing Risk and the ALCAM (Australian Level Crossing Assessment Model) .
