This presentation explores how engineers can extend their influence beyond individual structures to strengthen the wider systems shaping New Zealand’s resilience to natural hazards.
Presenter Bio:
Caleb Dunne is a Principal Advisor, Risk Reduction at the Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake (NHC). With a background in structural and earthquake engineering, he combines technical expertise in the built environment with strategic experience in natural hazard risk reduction and resilience. Caleb's work focuses on enabling risk-informed decision-making, from government policy to individual homebuyers.
He works at the intersection of research, practice, policy, and insurance to translate complex risk information intro practical actions that deliver better resilience outcomes.
