Shift young Kiwis’ STEM perceptions from “boring” to “awe-inspiring” by volunteering for the Wonder Project in 2026.

STEM professionals engaging with their local communities through initiatives like the Wonder Project can make all the difference in a young person’s life – don’t miss this chance to hear how you can give back to your community and inspire the next generation by sharing your knowledge and passion for STEM.

Phil Aitofi (Wonder Project advisor) will be with us in person on the 26 February to share a bit about the Wonder Project, and how you can make a difference in young kiwi’s lives through volunteering as a STEM ambassador. With a background in education, and a passion for inspiring rangatahi all over Aotearoa, Phil will tell us all about the Wonder Project kaupapa, the impact of the Wonder Project in schools all over the country, and what you can expect when you sign up as an ambassador.

Why Volunteer?

As an ambassador for Engineering New Zealand’s free schools programme, you aren't just teaching – you're hands-on with the future.

  • Help students blast rockets, build turbines, craft water networks or even make ice cream.
  • Earn CPD hours while you give back.
  • Help young Kiwis see STEM through your eyes and encourage them toward a rewarding career path.
