In this presentation Jeff will be joining us in Wellington from Australia to outline the requirements and considerations associated with undertaking repairs, alterations, retrofits, and upgrades to existing switchboards in accordance with AS/NZS 3000: 2018 & AS/NZS 61439.
In addition to our Electrical Engineering Group members, we extend the invitation to all interested parties.
Key Learning Outcomes:
• What are the specific requirements associated with switchboard repairs, alterations, and retrofits.
• The do’s & don’ts with repairs and retrofits, and how to achieve verification.
• Can existing switchboard be expanded and still be compliant.
• Can an MCCB be fitted into a fuse switch module?
• Technical Implications of adding load to a board without a supply capacity control device.
• What are the technical considerations when carrying out an alteration/repair under AS/NZS 61439 & AS/NZS 3000.

Presenter Bio:
Jeff has been in the electrical industry for 41 years with a wide range of experience from heavy industry, maintenance, construction, domestic, consulting, and design. During this time Jeff has been involved in all facets of the electrical industry including the design of switchboard reticulation systems for hospitals, factories, and high-rise commercial buildings.
Jeff has previously presented to Engineers Australia, and Consulting Engineers Australia, together with representing Australia on various electrical standards committees including EL-06-08 Switchboards , and EL-007 High Voltage switchgear.
