Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau is proud to partner with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to support a smarter, more sustainable Aotearoa. Together, we are driving initiatives that empower and inspire our members with the knowledge and tools to lead the way in energy efficiency, affordability and security.

Who is EECA?

EECA (the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) is a delivery agency, a regulator, and an authority for energy use. Its purpose is to mobilise New Zealanders to be world leaders in clean and clever energy use.

EECA’s work encourages, promotes, and supports energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable sources of energy. EECA works across emerging and innovative technology, smart systems and future fuels to support households, industry, and Aotearoa New Zealand.

What does this partnership mean for members?

Our partnership enhances members’ learning by providing access to practical online modules and webinars.

These learning opportunities will empower engineers to think innovatively about their projects and will give members information on key topics such as the circular design framework - waste reduction, material circulation, and regenerative design.

Supporting the next generation of problem solvers

The partnership also works to inspire the next generation of problem solvers through The Wonder Project Power Challenge – a nationwide STEM initiative led by Engineering New Zealand.

EECA’s invaluable support helps bring energy education into classrooms in a fun, engaging and hands-on way, helping students understand how energy works and why efficiency matters.

Together, Engineering New Zealand and EECA are building a foundation for informed, energy-conscious engineering – now and for the future.
