Ahead of the summer holidays, it’s common for the Government to push through as many policy changes as possible. December 2025 was no different – with Government proposing changes in several areas that impact the engineering profession. Some people may have a summer book list, but we have a summer legislation list.

To make sure engineers have a say on these changes, we are now pulling together submissions on core issues – and we would love to have your input on what we say.

We are planning on submitting on the following proposals:

If you would like to support Engineering New Zealand’s submissions during this busy period, please email us at advocacy@engineeringnz.org by the due dates.

There are also several consultations that are open that we are not able to submit on due to capacity constraints. You can see these and other consultations coming up on our website.

We encourage you to make your own submissions on these important issues to help strengthen the voice of engineers.
