Our vision is to bring engineering to life to engineer better lives for New Zealanders. We do this by supporting and adding value to our members, partners, the profession and public while advancing engineering. We have 23,000 members and provide professional development, advocacy, connection and engagement for them. We are also the Regulator of New Zealand’s engineers and also accredit all tertiary engineering qualifications. We have 82 staff and a turnover of approximately twenty million dollars.

Engineering New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced legal professional for an appointed position on our Governing Board.
A diverse Board sparks innovation and growth. We warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Our Governing Board meets seven times a year with a mix of online and in person meetings in Pōneke.
This appointed role will strengthen the Board’s decision-making capability and support it to navigate increased compliance under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
Who we're looking for | Tā mātou e kimi nei
- A relevant legal qualification (e.g. LLB, LLM or similar)
- Significant experience working in the legal profession, ideally 10+ years
- Strong Governance qualifications and experience, preferably in relation to Incorporated Societies
- A background in commercial, administrative or construction law
- An understanding of the engineering profession or professional experience with engineering, if possible
The Board position is remunerated with an honorarium of $150 per hour to cover meetings, reading and travel.
