Your needs are evolving – so we’ve refreshed our brand to reflect this. We’re putting you, our member, front and centre.
Why a brand refresh?
Your experience as a member is what matters most to us. Every time you read an email, attend an event, visit the website, or interact with our people, we want you to feel assured, seen, inspired, connected and proud. We want to ensure that the value we offer aligns with your challenges and aspirations.
This means continuing to evolve our products and services – such as reviewing our CPD offerings and events.
Why now?
Your needs are changing, and we need to keep pace.
If we don’t evolve, we risk being out of step with your expectations and delivering inconsistent experiences. This refresh lays the foundation for all other member experience improvement mahi – helping us show up more clearly, consistently and meaningfully.
How was it developed?
The refreshed brand was developed in partnership with the people who experience it every day –members, volunteers and kaimahi.
It was shaped through workshops, member surveys and feedback, branches and technical groups, and approved by the Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau Board. At its core is a clear value proposition, built from your insight and designed around what matters most to you.
This refresh was done in-house, keeping the process cost-effective and practical.

The tip of the iceberg – our new logo
The most visible part of this refresh is our new logo. But the logo is only a small part of the change.
Our refreshed brand is about much more – it’s about what we say, how we look, and what we do. It’s about making sure every interaction with you consistently reflects who we are and the value we bring.
The logo is simply the first step in expressing this strategy. At its heart, it represents the unity of our profession and the diversity of people, disciplines, and ideas that make up engineering today.
Like engineering itself, the logo can be interpreted in many ways. Some see roads, DNA strands, people, cables, or awa (rivers) – others see fibre composites, cross-bracing, parallel algorithms, or the interweaving of disciplines working together. That openness is deliberate: it reflects the breadth of our profession and the strength we create by bringing those strands together.
What does this mean for you?
Very little right now. Other than noticing the logo appearing in some of our online channels in the coming weeks. But over the next 12 months, you’ll start to see small but meaningful shifts in how we show up - for example, evolving our event formats based on your feedback and insights. This will include a review of our events to ensure they stay fresh, engaging and relevant.
Your member symbol? Don’t worry about that yet – these will eventually be updated and resupplied. We’ll keep you updated.
