CPD records track the learning activities you have completed. Recording them in our online area is a great way to stay on top of your achievements and progress throughout your career, and it’ll help you apply for Chartership.
Completing a mix of learning activities each year that cover both business and technical skills will ensure you stay relevant and up to date. As part of your Engineering New Zealand membership, you also need to complete 40 hours of CPD per year. There’s a range of ways you can complete your learning.

Various (bulk upload)
If you've been recording your CPD somewhere else, you can create one entry using the 'various (bulk upload)' activity type. Enter the start and end date for the period of all the activity and the overall hours. To make sure your annual 40 hour CPD tracker is recording correctly, you should only do bulk uploads for one calendar year, and not across multiple years. Once you've added the record, you can upload a file with more detail about all your learning. This could be from a personal system you're using or exported from another provider.
Activity description & learning outcome
A CPD record should include details about a specific learning activity you have done. The description should include:
- what the activity was
- what your learnt
- how you will apply the learnings and change the way you work.
