The Civil Engineering Testing Association of New Zealand (CETANZ) is a professional group of civil engineering testing specialists dedicated to improving the standards and status of civil and geotechnical testing within New Zealand.
Formed in 2007, CETANZ fosters a collaborative environment where members can access technical support, industry advice, and meaningful networking opportunities. The society’s aim is to ensure the integrity and quality of construction projects nationwide by continuously raising the standard of testing practice.
CETANZ represents the views of its members to regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in relation to soils, concrete, aggregate, asphalt, and bitumen testing also covering pavements and cone penetration testing (CPT).
What the Society does
- Promote best practices and knowledge exchange in civil engineering and geotechnical testing.
- Represent members’ interests in the development of national testing standards and regulations.
- Facilitate nationally recognised qualifications in civil laboratory testing.
- Provide opportunities for professional development through training, events, and technical workshops.
- Conduct regular proficiency testing rounds to maintain consistency and performance.
- Host biennial conferences to showcase innovations, discuss issues and concerns and celebrate excellence within the industry.
