The Parua Bay wastewater network experienced a significant failure in late January 2026, when one of the inlet manholes at pump station SPS051 collapsed. The emergency response and long-term design solution was a collaborative effort between contractors, WDC project engineers, operations and local consultants.
Join the Northland Branch to meet the designers, WDC wastewater team, and contractors. They will discuss the project's background, site constraints, and 'safety by design' considerations, as well as the challenges overcome during design and construction.
Dinner and networking will follow the site visit at the Parua Bay Tavern (at attendee's own cost).
PPE Required: Steel toe capped shoes and hi-vis jacket.
