Take a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the Kaiwera Downs Stage 2 wind farm development as it nears the end of its two-year construction phase. This project adds 36 new turbines to the site, bringing the total capacity across both stages to 198MW – a vital renewable energy contribution to the Southland region.
Hosted by the project team from Higgins, who are managing the project for Mercury and previously completed the earlier 10 Turbine Stage 1 development. Attendees will hear about the scale of the project, progress to date and a chance to observe the towers up close during installation.
This site visit is ideal for engineering students and professionals across multiple disciplines – covering civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering and project management.
PPE Required: Long-sleeved tops and trousers, safety glasses, hard hat, hi-vis jacket and safety boots.
