Join fellow Engineering New Zealand members for an after-work clean-up of the Heathcote Estuary this February. This is a practical, hands-on opportunity to give back to a local environment while spending time with other engineers outside the usual work setting.
The clean-up will run for around 1 to 1½ hours, working in pairs across a defined section of the estuary to collect rubbish and debris.
- All equipment required for the activity will be provided, along with access to wash-up facilities afterwards.
- Snacks and hot and cold refreshments will be available back at the Bryn Martin offices once the clean-up is complete.
- Meet at 5.15PM at 1a/11 Tussock Lane (outside Bryn Martin offices).
- Bring gumboots, gloves and clothing you are ok to get dirty in. Bring something windproof and waterproof.
Weather permitting, it promises to be a great way to end the day: useful, social, and outdoors. Numbers will be limited, and the event will be postponed to the next day in the event of rain, so keep an eye on your email closer to the date.
