In conjunction with the EGP (Engineering General Practitioners) group, this event will be a continuation of our discussions and networking focused on the Invercargill design, construction and infrastructure industry. This event aims to encourage growth and co-operation between disciplines and roles including planners, surveyors, architects, and engineers. This will open doorways between industry roles to increase the connections and contacts to use for the correct projects.

These meetings act as casual networking opportunities, held in a local coffee shop to the east of the ICC building on Esk Street, where the topics discussed or presented are proposed to be case studies, personal experiences, or found challenges that the group can add to or provide other insight. This process will keep ideas and designs current, solve common challenges, and avoid mistakes through the experiences of others.

This meeting's ice-breaker topic will discuss project considerations from the scoping through to the issued drawings ready for construction. This includes inter-discipline consultations and relevance to any project that starts from the office. The meeting schedule includes arrival with time to network and grab any food or drink at 10.30am before presentations and discussions start around 10.45am. Planned discussions and forum will be active for up to 30 minutes with other topics open to anyone at all times. This event is expected to be around an hour long.

We encourage emailing or getting in contact with any topics or interests you may like to discuss or present to the group at a monthly catch-up.

Kahu Ariki Cafe Engineering New Zealand hello@engineeringnz.org

Be a part of the 2026 edition of the coffee catch-ups with the EGP. We look to open positive, constructive communication to develop growth, cooperation, and local networking for the construction and infrastructure industries in Invercargill. For April's meeting, we will be looking at project considerations from the scoping through to the issued drawings ready for construction.
