These objectives are achieved through nine lessons and four quizzes, covering topics such as the carbon cycle, natural and artificial sequestration, emission scopes, carbon footprint calculations, the relationship between energy and carbon and monitoring and reporting emissions.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the module, you should be able to:
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the carbon cycle
- Understand natural and artificial carbon sequestration techniques
- Be able to fit different emissions categories into scopes and categories
- Be able to perform carbon footprint calculations
- Understand how to conduct an emissions inventory, compliant with international regulations such as ISO 14064 and GHG protocol
Position and pathway
This module includes an optional online badge exam (micro-credential). Successful completion of the assessment contributes towards CEP’s Certified Professional in Carbon qualification.
Time commitment
The module comprises nine (9) lessons and videos, and approximately two and a half hours (2.5) hours of total video content. Learners will also complete four (4) progression quizzes, each taking around five (5) minutes, and one (1) completion quiz. The progression quizzes serve as gatekeeper steps, requiring successful completion before participants can advance to the next lesson.
Digital certificate
A digital certificate is issued upon achieving a minimum pass mark of 75%, recognising successful completion and understanding of the module. Please note that this certificate is separate from the associated professional certification.
