Delicious food and drink from Pomeroys will be provided, please advise of any dietary requirements.

Within the heart of the major revitalisation of the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor (OARC) lies a new transport route: the City to Sea Pathway, a 4-meter shared-use, 11km pathway connecting the destinations of the red-zone. As it’s name suggest it connects users from the heart of the City to the New Brighton Sea. Due to its length, the project is split into 3 phases of which the Western section (from Fitzgerald Avenue to Avon Park) has been completed and ready to be explored.

With new nature play spaces, bridges and ecological restoration, the pathway is enabling people to enjoy the Ōtākaro river as well as showcase the amazing community organisations based in the OARC. The pathway is part of the substantial $54 million dollar investment from the Crown in the wider 602 hectare the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor regeneration area. Hear from CCC Parks Project Manager Sam Morris about the pathway, biodiversity ‘green-spine’, design and play spaces of this unique project.

Bike the route, hear the thinking and wind down with delicious food and drinks at Pomeroys Pub.

For the bike ride, meet at 22 Templar Street, east of the Fitzgerald Avenue / Kilmore Street intersection at 4.45pm
