As a values-led organisation, our commitment to DEIB is grounded in how we show up for one another every day. Our kaimahi are encouraged to live our values in their mahi, guiding the way we connect, collaborate and lead.
We offer a range of initiatives that support kaimahi to thrive both personally and professionally – reflecting our belief that inclusion and belonging are core to who we are and how we work.
Neurodiversity Strategy and Accreditation
We’re proud to be the first organisation ever to achieve NeuroFusion (formerly Brain Badge) Level Two certification. Our Neurodiversity strategy and programme of work create an environment where cognitive diversity is supported, valued as an asset, biases are acknowledged and addressed, and everyone can participate fully and thrive.
Rainbow Butterflies
The Rainbow Butterflies is an internal network for kaimahi who identify with the rainbow community, providing a safe and discreet space to connect. Privacy is fully respected – you don’t need to disclose how you identify. Te Ao Rangahau also participates in the Wellington Pride Parade each year and hosts an annual morning tea to fundraise for Rainbow Youth.
Social butterflies
The Social Butterflies organise social, cultural, team building and sporting events throughout the year to celebrate the diversity and different interests of the Te Ao Rangahau whānau. Plus, anyone can get involved.
Waiata Group
Aside from bringing the joy of music to every All-Staff meeting, the Waiata Group aims to support individuals and the organisation in embracing Te Ao Māori as part of our wider Te Ao Māori strategy and programme of work, Kimihia Rangahaua.
