Engineering Heritage is a network of engineering and industrial heritage enthusiasts.

What we do

Our vision is to ensure New Zealand’s engineering achievements are widely recognised and valued. We want the public to know about the major contributions engineering has made to building New Zealand’s society and economy.

Much of New Zealand’s engineering and industrial heritage has been poorly recorded, and published information is often difficult for the public to locate.

Our objectives are to:

  • Identify and record our engineering heritage resources in the Heritage Register.
  • Promote the protection, preservation and conservation of our engineering heritage.
  • Interpret and enhance understanding of our engineering heritage.
  • Inform the public of the critical role engineering plays in modern society.
