Over the past five years, we’ve followed a strategy that’s all about bringing engineering to life, underpinned by generating greater connection, credibility, influence and recognition for engineers.

That strategy was based on extensive research, with members and non-members, along with many conversations and pieces of consultation

This year, our strategy’s come up for review. We’ve updated it to reflect what we’ve heard from members and stakeholders and through research. The update leverages off the huge progress we have made to take engineering forward over the last five years. It’s therefore evolved rather than radically changed.

Our strategy is still founded on growing engineers’ influence, credibility, recognition and connection. To these, we’ve added a fifth ambition: that our members thrive, in terms of both their career and wellbeing.

We’ve added ‘thriving’ because we’ve heard clearly from members, especially as this year had unfolded, that they need support with their wellbeing. We’re uniquely placed to support all engineers, provide them with resources that really work, and bring them together in a community that takes career development and wellbeing seriously.
