The Mechanical Engineering Group (MEG) is a technical group of Engineering New Zealand and has strong links and support from I.Mech.E (The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London). They aim to encourage social and technical liaison between engineers of all levels who have an interest in mechanical technology.
What they do
They hold informal meetings and site visits most months, have social gatherings and hear from guest speakers. Site visits include factories, workshops, industrial suppliers, and large engineering projects. Talks are of broad interest rather than being highly technical.
As a member, you'll have access to benefits such as:
- Socialise with other like-minded professionals.
- See a range of mechanical engineering beyond your immediate field.
- Opportunity to grow business and technical contacts.
Anyone with an interest in mechanical engineering is eligible to join. This includes students, technicians, draughts persons, local body and SOE employees, engineering sales staff, management and consultants.
