Join us at Scott Technology for a workshop tour and technical talk. Get a close-up look at automation in action and hear from the experts leading the way in robotics, vision systems and R&D innovation.
With design and build operations across Australasia, China, Europe, and the United States, and more than 100 years of engineering excellence, Scott is a trusted global leader in industrial automation.
Take a guided look inside Scott’s operations, including demonstrations of the Chicken Trussing and Lamb Primal systems – world-leading examples of New Zealand automation and engineering capability.
This session will provide an overview of how Scott tackles the complex engineering challenges of automating in the meet industry – and the innovative technologies we use to overcome them.
Technical Talk: How Scott Uses Machine Vision
The golden rule of industrial automation is to control your inputs – yet Scott’s work in the meat industry constantly challenges this principle, with large variations between the products we process.
In the face of constantly changing product conditions, our key tools are machine vision and machine learning. We use cameras, laser profilers, and x-rays to gather data, then analyse each carcass for individualised processing.
PPE Required: Steel toe capped boots.
