This presentation will provide valuable information on laws and regulations which engineers are expected to abide by and to share what activities engineers can reasonably be expected to be involved in to ensure their responsibilities are met.
Nick Stonier, Process Engineering Manager at Worley NZ, will provide the introduction and the main presentation will be delivered by Paul Bishop, Specialist Health and Safety Inspector with the WorkSafe Major Hazards Facilities (MHF) team. This is the branch of government that regulates health and safety for industries that hold large quantities of hazardous materials. These industries often have complicated processes and require complex systems to prevent major industrial incidents. Paul has worked for the WorkSafe MHF team for almost three years regulating many diverse businesses including (manufacturers of): milk powder/baby formula, 1080 pest control, refining & petroleum tank farms, pulp & paper, fertilizers, glue & resins, LPG, industrial gases and chemical storage warehouses.
