According to councillor Cynthia Brooks, “The new reservoir and treatment plant will be a game changer for Renwick. The reservoir, which is 3 times bigger than the town’s existing capacity, will help alleviate summer demand pressure on the aquifer. This is a very significant investment in long-term water management for the community and it will help get through Marlborough’s dry summers.”
The construction contract includes ground improvement works and building the 1,500m3 reinforced, pre-stressed concrete reservoir at 24 River Terrace. Completion is expected in July 2020.
