Join the Manawatu Branch to hear about one of Palmerston North’s latest landmark projects, He Ara Kotahi, a 7.1km track that connects Palmerston North city directly to Linton Military Camp, Massey University and Food HQ.

The presentation will focus on providing an overview of the planning, consenting, design, and construction of the He Ara Kotahi shared pathway project recently completed by Palmerston North City Council. A number of challenges that were overcome during the project such as: management of multiple stakeholders, topographical difficulties, construction of bridge piles in an active flowing river channel, consenting requirements, and the need for the pathway to cross a highly sensitive area of important native vegetation will be highlighted.

If the weather is good, why not cycle to The Factory via He Ara Kotahi? Note that cycle lights are needed on the track after dark.
