Join the West Coast Branch for their first event of 2020 – a visit to the Greymouth Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Grey District Council staff and John Strange from Stantec will be giving us a tour of the site. The wastewater from the major area of Greymouth is collected in 6 terminal pumping stations, then pumped to the WWTP for treatment.

The treatment plant uses a biological trickling filter to treat wastewater and odorous air. It has been designed to provide treatment for an equivalent population of 14,000. Stantec, previously named MWH, has been a part of this project.

Please meet us at 6pm at the treatment plant, located on Preston Road across from Greymouth Nurseries. As this is a site visit, you'll need to wear the following PPE: hi-vis and safety boots.

Afterwards we will grab some refreshments at the Monteiths Brewery. Please register for catering purposes.

We hope to see you there!
