A 2-hour, 3 km, guided tour by engineers to various heritage sites of engineering interest. Guides will present some history of the sites and buildings, and highlight significant engineering involved in their original construction and post-earthquake restoration. Experts involved in restoration will be present at each site. Some new builds of engineering significance will also be covered. Heritage sites include Canterbury Museum, Arts Centre, Canterbury Provincial Council Buildings, tramway, Christ Church Cathedral, Bridge of Remembrance, Town Hall and Heritage Hotel. Attendees must be able to walk 3 km and stand for 2 hours.
